NIH-KSA와 KASBP-DC가 주관하는 ABES 2014 가 12월 6일 열립니다. 학생 참석자들에게는 Travel Award를 수여할 예정이고, 포스터를 발표하는 학생은 대부분에게 Research award가 수여된다고 합니다.

ABES 2014 개최를 알려드립니다.
완연했던 가을도 잠시, 이제 차가운 바람이 불어오기 시작했습니다.
올해도 NIH-KSA가 주관하는 ABES 2014 학회가 오는 12월 6일 토요일에 NIH Twinbrook campus에서 개최됩니다.
올해 부터는 KASBP-DC (워싱턴 재미 한인 제약인 협회) 와 NIH-KSA 가 공동으로 주최를 하게 되어, NIH-KSA 회원 뿐만 아니라 워싱턴 인근에 위치한 제약회사에 계시는 여러분들도 ABES에 참여하게 되었습니다.
물론 이전 학회에서도 제약회사 관계자 여러분께서 참석해 오셨지만, 이제부터는 ABES 학회를 준비하는 일원이 되어 같이 하게 되었음을 기쁜 마음으로 알려드립니다.
이번 학회는 박정현 박사님 (NCI) 과 송병준 박사님 (NIAAA) 을 Keynote speaker로 모시고 연구 결과를 나누고, Discussion하는 시간을 갖을 예정이오니 많은 분들의 참여 바랍니다.
또한 포스터 초록을 NIH-KSA 홈페이지를 통해 접수 받습니다. 접수 받은 초록을 심사하여 선발되신 분은 오럴 발표를 하실 수 있습니다.
오럴 발표자는 임종식 박사님께서 후원하는 Young Investigator Award 를 비롯한 여러 Award의 수상 후보자가 되어, 심사 후 상과 함께 상금이 수여됩니다.
포스터 발표자 역시 심사를 통해 우수 포스터 상을 선발하여 상금이 수여되오니 많은 분들의 참여를 바랍니다.
학생 참여자에게는 Travel award를 수여하오니, 많은 학생 여러분의 참여를 기대합니다.
초록 마감은 11월 19일 까지 NIH-KSA 홈페이지(http://nihksa.org/xe/KSA/p_2014ABES)를 통해 받고 있으니 많은 분들의 참여를 부탁드립니다.
Call for Abstracts - 2014 ABES
Abstract Deadline: November 19th, 2014
The Korean Scientists Association at NIH (NIH‐KSA) and ABES Organizing Committee announce the 6th Annual Bioscience and Engineering Symposium, 2014 (ABES 2014) to be held on December 6th, 2014 at 5625 Fishers Lane, Rockville, MD 20852. The ABES 2014 committee would like to invite the submission of abstracts that report new scientific discoveries in Bioscience and Engineering. All submitted abstracts will be presented at Poster Session. 5‐6 outstanding abstracts will be selected for oral presentations, judged by a committee of senior scientists from NIH and other institutions. ALL oral presenters and TWO poster presenters will be considered for Research Awards and student participants will receive Travel Awards. ALL ABSTRACTS MUST be submitted electronically from NIH‐KSA website (http://nihksa.org). Please follow the instructions on the website for word limit and format of abstract. There will be no abstract su
bmission fee. We strongly encourage you to present your research and share your expertise at ABES 2014.
The ABES is a flagship event organized by NIH‐KSA to bring together Korean and Korean-American Scientists and Engineers in Washington, DC metro area. The ABES 2014 will be a forum to broaden our understanding of diverse scientific research and to share knowledge in pharmaceutical industry and entrepreneurship of applied biomedical field. Two keynote lectures will be presented by Dr. Jung-Hyun Park (NIH/NCI) and Dr. Byoung-Joon Song (NIH/NIAAA), and two Bio-Pharma industry talks will be given. In addition, the ABES 2014 will provide a platform for active networking and exchange of information pertinent to developing diverse career paths in science and engineering.
