Annual Bioscience and Engineering Symposium (ABES) 2009
UMD and NIH are holding a local scientific/technical conference in order to provide networking opportunities to Korean scientists and engineers at different career stages around the DC area. The Organizing Committee is planning on having about 12 oral presentations and 12 poster presentations.

As the UMD Organizing Committee Chair, I would like to encourage graduate students to actively participate in this even as they will have an opportunity to get aquatinted with not only their peer graduate students but also other researchers at more advanced careers (e.g., professors, NIH PI's, senior engineers, etc.). I am also pleased to tell you that there will be two Young Investigator Award, one for the best podium presentation and one for the best poster presentation. Each award recipients will be offered a certificate and a monetary award of $250.
