| 지금까지 berkeley springs에 겨울마다 한 세번정도 갔다왔네요.
온천을 하러 간건 아니구요.
한 겨울에 몇가족들, 친구들끼리 쉬러 갔다 오기 정말 좋아요.
아시다시피 west virginia가 워낙 산골이라 조용하고 공기도 좋아요.
운 좋으면 눈 속에 파묻혀 있을 수도 있어요. ^^
물론 cell phone 잘 안 터집니다.
http://www.berkeleysprings.com/ 여기 들어가셔서 왼쪽편에 lodging을 눌러보면 여러가지 옵션들이 있는데 cabin을 적극적으로 권장합니다.
원래 owner들이 다 있는 cabin들인데, 사용하지 않는 날들에 여행객들에게 숙박을 제공하는 겁니다. 웹사이트에서 사용가능한 날짜들 확인 가능하구요. 예약하고 나면 cabin key box 번호와 찾아가는 길들을 알려주고, 나중에 곧바로 그 cabin으로 가서 지내다가 다른 절차없이 바로 돌아올 수 있게 되어 있어요. 가격은 one bed, two bed, three bed 에 따라서 다르구요. 보통 벽난로가 모두 있고 이용할 수 있게 장작도 많이 준비되어 있어요. 벽난로에 모여서 같이 게임도 하고 이야기하면서 시간보내기 좋습니다. 조금 큰 cabin들은 게임룸도 있어서 탁구도 즐길 수 있어요.
그리고, 모든 주방기구들이 준비되어 있어서 재료들만 준비해 가시면 됩니다.
근처에서 한 30분인가 정도 가면 white tail 스키리조트가 있구요.
그리고, 문제의 스파...
저도 여기 두번째로 갔을 때, 과연 미국의 온천을 어떤 곳일까 하고 체험하러 이용해봤죠.
근데, 들어가보고는 너무 실망했었어요. 가격도 30분 이용에 20불 정도 했던것 같은데...기억이 영...
아무튼, 온천시설이 되어 있는 가게들이 몇개 있는데, 그중에 하나에 들어갔었는데,
작은 문들이 여러개 있고, 그 문으로 들어가면 바로 조금마한 욕조(남자 세명정도 들어가면 꽉 찹니다)가 있고, 그곳에 물 받아서 몸 담궜다가 나오는 거죠.
차라리, 버지니아에 있는 찜질방이 훨씬 좋습니다.

| 저도 웨스트버지니아에 있는 모 리조트에 놀러갔다가 등산/골프후 돌아오는 길에 버클리스프링을 다녀왔었지요.
몇년 전이라 기억이 가물가물한데...고급스파 리조트를 이용한 게 아니라 주(?)에서 운영하는 로만배쓰만 이용해서 bias가 있을 수 있구요. 윗분말씀대로 로만배쓰는 30분 간격으로 욕조(?)를 개인/가족이 이용할 수 있어요. 예약에 맞춰서 온천수는 갈아주고요. 먹으라고 작은 바틀에 개인당 1개씩 찬 온천수를 준답니다. 로만베쓰+마사지 옵션도 추가 가능하구요.
조지워싱턴이 예전에 거기서 온천을 즐겼다하여 유명한데, 뭐 가보면 이끼 잔뜩낀 한사람 겨우 들어갈만한 배스텁이 외부에 하나 있구요.시설은 럭셔리/팬시랑은 거리가 멉니다. 주차도 쉽지않구요.
럭셔리한 스파 생각하시면 실망하시겠지만,뭐 나름 물은 좋아요. 스키/골프 등 운동후에 가셔서 피로를 풀고 오시는 것도 괜찮겠구요. |
